Japanese calligraphy and ink effects are amongst the most beautiful and stylish of all in my humble opinion. I have long been interested in the subject and culture, since before I started tattooing professionally almost twenty years ago. Here you can find a curated collection of exactly the type of brushes and images I use to design high-quality Japanese-themed tattoos and media.
 
These files have never been used in existing designs, or published before. I hope they inspire and help you!
 
There are 47 completely unique and optimised Procreate brush files, built on completely custom source images (brush tips) from the ground up...with a focus on calligraphic line weight variation, authentic wet & dry ink effects, texture/grain, and soft dusting. They are designed to be used together as a coherent system.

There's also 600 transparent-background Design Asset PNG files which can be used quickly as layers or converted to brushes/stamps...as well as ofcourse be edited to your hearts content (which is encouraged). They are mostly in Black & White with some files also adding red, as well as square 2k resolution with some 4k texture files. These files are repeated but WITH backgrounds in a seperate folder.
 
Included in the Master Collection is a customisable and unique Template to help give your work even more of an authentic look, as well as 4 Procreate Colour Swatches. See below for how to use them.
 
Some of the Design Assets could be the centrepiece for designs, but the bulk are designed with the intention of complementing and completing a main component, with backgrounds and interesting edges or embelishments. 

Both the Brushes and Assets cover a range of traditional, modern/graphic, and realistic art styles.
They are guided by my many years professional tattoo experience, as well as even longer studying and selling graphic design & fine art.
